What's going on at Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Parish?
Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe
December 12, 2025
The Mass was celebrated in Spanish with traditional music and an offering of
flowers placed at the statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
The history of Our Lady of Guadalupe was read while children dressed in
costumes that dramatized Juan Diego's vision of the apparition of Our Lady
and the miracle of the flowers and the impression of her image on his garment.

Feast of St. Elizabeth of Hungary
November 16, 2025
Thank you to everyone who participated in the celebration of the Feast Day of St. Elizabeth of Hungary with your attendance, attention and devotion. How wonderful it was to see our small church filled to standing room with our brothers and sisters in faith.
Before Mass, the vases half-filled with water set in front of the Altar symbolized the empty places in our world and our lives just waiting to be filled by acts of love and devotion.
After the opening prayer and readings, Fr. Dan reminded us in his homily on sainthood that it is "achievable, possible and reachable" for each of us to become saints in heaven. Inspired by the life of St. Elizabeth of Hungary and her love for the poor Fr. Dan offered three questions for our prayer and reflection.
At the closing Fr. Dan invited those who brought bread to come forward to have it blessed. This bread they would consume for their sustenance and share with others carried these blessings forward from the sanctuary into daily life.
The icon of St. Elizabeth painted for our parish and blessed by Bishop Pham will be permanently installed in the church to welcome parishioners and visitors as they enter the church. After reciting our very own litany to St. Elizabeth of Hungary and dismissal from Mass many from the congregation gathered to share a delicious potluck with many specialties from our
Filipino friends.

- How can I better recognize and serve Christ in the "least of these" in my daily life?
- Am I willing to step outside of my comfort zone or disregard the opinions of the world to help those in need?
- How can I respond to suffering and personal tragedy with the same faith and reliance on God that St. Elizabeth demonstrated?

After Sunday Mass on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, the congregation processed with the Blessed Sacrament along the sidewalk of Main Street in Julian. People in the town greeted us with smiles and curiosity, some knelt as Fr. Dan passed by with the Eucharist. It was a beautiful event to bring Christ into the neighborhood.
